Tips for School Boys

 Tips for School Boys

On Thursday, schools and kindergartens were closed by decision from above. So it turned out that the coronavirus is not only flu and media panic, but a real threat that we should not underestimate.
The Italians showed what we can expect when we neglect the matter and instead of sitting on our asses at home, we start to party in groups.
I would prefer to avoid such a scenario.
Hence the decision to stay at home for at least the next two weeks. What’s next? We will see.
Meanwhile, a few thoughts about the epidemic and what to do with yourself (and your business) at that time.

Source

We are watching an interesting discussion about the origin of the virus. Some people see it as a biological weapon, others as a zoonotic version of some filth, and others as a deliberate product of biological engineering (not a weapon) designed to divert attention from the dangers of introducing 5G networks.
So far, I haven’t found any more possibilities. If, on the other hand, you have found any other hypotheses, let me know.
I am eager to read.
However, I only read it out of curiosity, because in fact, from our utilitarian point of view, the source of this muck does not matter much. The consequences we suffer are what count.
It is these effects that we must face and deal with.
We can find hundreds of reasons to complain and even to be frightened by the general situation, the quarantine and the basically uncertain future.
Let us make an intellectual effort, however, and let us not be overwhelmed by panic .
As Chris Voss, retired head of the FBI negotiators, says, a mind that works in a positive state is over 40% more agile than one that is frightened.
So let’s look for a few positives of the current state.

Positive

For me, the biggest advantage of the crisis is the reset of priorities.
Aside from various crap related to hedonism, unnecessary time and money expenses or stupid ideas that are somehow quiet for a moment.
We stay in the family environment, we get to know our spouses and children again, we learn to take care of the elderly, who are worth helping, for example, with shopping, so that they do not have to leave the house.
We begin to appreciate what we have and have always had. Gratitude appears !
We have a lot of time to spend at home.
This situation will force most of us to adopt a systemic approach to holidays.
Otherwise, the kids will spend their days watching Netflix or other jutubers slapping young brains. So we’ll learn to plan, share household chores, and perhaps even talk to each other😉
Once we organize our priorities, we have a plan, it will turn out that we will have time to think.
It’s time for the damn important things, but not urgent, so elusive, always postponed.

Uncertainty

First of all, let’s return to the subject of the state of the psyche.
It is worth the additional 40% of the mental efficiency. Unless, of course, we want to do something specific.
Psychologists show that naming an anxiety and expressing it gives a good chance to reduce this fear. If only because we know what to do.
So let’s talk – putting fear inside yourself won’t help much.
As believers, we are lucky, because we can successfully convert these fears or sacrifices intentionally into what is important to us.
Uncertainty also reduces meaningful planning of what can be planned.
Let’s move on to the next point, which is planning.

Planning

If the goal of this planning approach is to free the brain from the constant “what now” race, then it is worth starting with the most serious matters – children.

Kids

If these little nibblers who are at home with us do not get a clear message about their schedule, they will either tear the cottage to shreds or stick to the various screens that surround them.
Neither of these solutions is optimal.
So agree with them (the slightly larger ones can be used to invent them personally) what and when is to happen.
It’s a brilliant situation that even Jordan Peterson mentions. We still say “I have to do this, I have to do that.” Now you are in a position where you can set your own daily schedule.
So set it up so that you like it. And teach this to the children.
They don’t like getting up to school at 8? Great – let them get up a bit later, but at the appointed time. Same every day.
Do they like to watch cartoons? Great too? What fairy tales? What time? How much time?
Need to prepare dinner? Brilliant – the whole team will do it … together 😉Because will it be faster? It depends on the efficiency of its individual members.
After all, you also have to learn a bit – schools are closed, but the knowledge will not come to mind by itself.
There is scope for home educators who resist home education.
Now no forgive.
School guidelines are easier to deal with than without them. But it is the parents who are now responsible for ensuring that their children master the given material.
And, more importantly, will they learn to plan for learning. This type of skill will be useful to them in the future, sometimes more than the knowledge they acquire now.

Planning difficult

We stay at home for a reason – quarantine is no fun.
So we plan shopping, supplying the house with the most necessary things, thanks to which we will not have to go out too often.
Chaotic decisions are often not good. So let’s think in advance what we will do in the above situations.

Health

The virus, obviously, is a direct threat to our health and life. How contagious it is, it is worth realizing by watching Joe Rogan’s interview with Michael Osterholm – an epidemic expert
So let’s minimize the chance of contact with the bug by not going out at home.
For now, we know that we are in for a two-week quarantine. However, this situation will most likely take longer.
The longer the exposure time, the greater the chance that we will have some contact with the virus.
For this contact to be the least threatening, let’s take care of our immunity.
Interestingly, these aren’t complicated things. We should be doing them every day, but only today they gain more importance.
I mean such difficult activities as:
  • Hygiene – it’s good that finally people started washing their hands.
  • Movement – an essential element of both well-being and health improvement. Our body is made to move.
  • Sleeping – doctors recommend. A well-fed person is less prone to muck. We regenerate quite well while sleeping.
  • Food – I don’t mean some fancy food. It would be best if I quote Dr. Ania here: “Don’t eat shit.” And that’s basically enough.
  • Supplements – I’m not a specialist. It is worth finding out which supplementation is best for us. Because the fact that one is needed is a certainty.

Be careful not only about the virus. Better not break your leg, arm or cut yourself somewhere inadvertently. Hospitals will experience a real siege in a moment and apart from the fact that the staff will be earned to the elbows and the equipment and resources will not be enough to treat the most injured, you can catch in the hospital what you will not catch at home.
